Full Moon.
Today was cool and sunny. It was very pleasant. My parents visited, and we cooked hamburgers on our little charcoal grill.
The pecan trees are beginning to drop their bounty. Picked up 6 lbs of nuts (technically they’re a drupe). This is the beginning. There are 15 pecan trees here. If we harvested most of them, I expect we’d get a few hundred pounds. There’s a pecan business in the town near us where we can pay to have them mechanically shelled. That’s good because I don’t want to shell 200lbs or more by hand! We’ll store them in the freezer and use them in all sorts of cooking….and eating straight up.
