I have heard from more than one source that this is a good way to grow potatoes. Since we inherited some old tires with HTF, I have decided to put it to the test. I only set up 2 stacks….if it works and the potatoe crop is prolific…we’ll be using the method again.
This is Fred….our black Langshan Rooster. He’s a friendly rooster…unlike Huey our attack rooster.
This is a little skull I found under the oak trees in front of the house. I don’t know what animal it is yet….any suggestions? I will try to remember to look into it.
Today we got our exercise dragging and toting our fence parts into location. All the corners including the one with the gate are sitting where they go. Tomorrow will be a day filled with leveling, straightening, and wrestling with these big things…and concrete mixing??? My muscles can hardly wait.
The rose bush is really going to town. Beautiful.
I have been misting some of my seedlings with a solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide and water. They seem to like it. It is claimed that it oxygenates them.
There are 3 different varieties of beans coming up in the garden. Also- spinach and garlic. Things not up yet- basil, okra, marigolds.
No picture of this….but today when we returned from a trip of errands to town we were blocked in the driveway by a four foot long rat snake basking in the sun. I chased it out of our way….for a moment it seemed ready to defend its right to be in the middle of the driveway. But then my stick tossing assault made it think better! It slithered up one of our big trees…. now we are wondering where we might see it next! Yikes…… Dave is convinced it will be waiting for him behind the toilet tonight…….
