Spirals

Two acrylic paintings. Done in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico sitting outside the truck camper I was living in. – Spring 2020

Photo – Tops of broken/worn seashells collected in Baja California Sur on beaches of the Sea of Cortez.

During my time in Baja I frequently noticed spiral forms: in crashing waves, shells, and budding flowers.

Spirals – I’ve always found this form to be beautiful. It’s a classic doodle for me. How many spirals have I drawn? A lot. In school….in notebooks, on book covers. I had a big chalkboard when I was a kid…..hours spent drawing shapes and objects…..spirals.
