Deer Skull #1
This is the first skull I painted. A whitetail buck deer skull I found beside a country road. Most likely it was hit and killed by a car.
I love skulls, bones, natural specimens.
I often use stones, shells, nests, twigs, seedpods, leaves, and flowers to decorate my space. I see endless layers of beauty in nature. I feel no desire to run to Target to feather my nest.
I was inspired to paint on this skull and it started something new for me. Using the nature I love as a canvas. By my hands, I added my touch with acrylic paint.
I still have this skull. I don’t consider it my best work. But it was the beginning of skull painting. That makes it special to me.
